Local Conservatives have selected Cllr Eleanor Cox as their City Hall Spokesperson and GLA candidate.
Eleanor Cox will hold Labour’s Sadiq Khan to account and stand up for Merton and Wandsworth residents.
Upon her selection, Cllr Eleanor Cox said:
“I would like to thank members of Merton and Wandsworth Conservatives for putting their faith in me by selecting me as their GLA candidate.
“I am looking forward to working hard on the issues that matter to the residents of Merton and Wandsworth, such as tackling the increasing cost of living, reducing crime, improving public transport, providing affordable housing and opposing the ULEZ expansion.
“I will build a better future for our residents by using the experiences I have gained as your local Councillor, a successful businesswoman and former elite sportswoman to fight a positive and energetic campaign that shines a spotlight on both Labour’s and Mayor Khan’s considerable failings in Merton and Wandsworth boroughs.”
Lee Roberts, Putney Conservatives Parliamentary spokesperson said:
“Eleanor has impressed us with her campaigning energy and her passion for helping local residents. I know she will make an outstanding Assembly Member and I look forward to supporting her all the way.”
Cllr William Sweet, Wandsworth Conservatives Group Leader, commented on the selection saying:
“I very much look forward to working with Eleanor, who I know will champion residents' interests in Wandsworth as our City Hall spokesperson.”
