The All England Lawn Tennis Club will require daily movements of large trucks in and out of the area for 8 years during the construction of the new courts.
These large HGV lorries are going to be sent on local roads - Merton Road, Granville Road, Wimbledon Park Road and back along Wimbledon Park Side and the A3.
Local Councillors have been told that at peak times there will be as many as 27 trucks per day, or 54 additional lorry movements on local roads. We can expect an average of 8 large trucks per day - that’s the equivalent to almost 6,000 additional lorry movements each year for up to 8 years.
Merton Council have granted planning permission but are trying to have the lorries with all the additional traffic and air pollution put through Southfields.
Sign our petition and add your voice to the hundreds of local residents who don’t want to see 40,000 extra HGV lorries on local residential roads. We will share the petition with both City Hall and Wandsworth Council.
